Class InfantBirthOutcomesTracking

"One of the major ways in which the efficacy of PostPartum and Pregnant Women residential programs are evaluated is by tracking infant birth and outcomes. Infants will be born within normal ranges for Apgar score, birth weight, head circumference, length and gestational age full term. Infant Births are evaluated based on the following norms: Apgar score: 7-10; Head circumference: 33 to 38 cm; Birth weight: 6 lb, 2 oz to 9 lb, 2oz; Length: 19-21 inches long; Gestation: 37- 42 weeks" - HL7 Behavioral Health Record DAM R2, InfantBirthOutcomesTracking

Attributes
Integer birthWeight birthWeight

"The weight of a baby at birth." - HL7 Behavioral Health Record DAM R2, InfantBirthOutcomesTracking.birthWeight

String gestationalAge gestationalAge

"This data element represents Gestational age which can be determined before or after birth. Before birth, the doctor will use ultrasound to measure the size of the baby's head, abdomen, and thigh bone. This helps determine how well the baby is growing in the womb. After birth, gestational age can be measured by looking at the baby's weight, length, head circumference, vital signs, reflexes, muscle tone, posture, and the condition of the skin and hair. The baby's developmental gestational age may not be the same as the calendar age. For example, an infant born at 36 weeks may actually have a developmental gestational age of 38 weeks. This baby may be more like a full-term infant than a baby born prematurely. Determining a baby’s gestational age is important. It gives the doctor information that help set the baby’s medical treatment plan." - HL7 Behavioral Health Record DAM R2, InfantBirthOutcomesTracking.gestationalAge

Integer headCircumference headCircumference

"A measurement of a child’s head around its largest area. It measures the distance from above the eyebrows and ears and around the back of the head. Measurement of the head circumference is an important part of routine well baby care. During the well-baby exam, a change from the expected normal head growth may alert the doctor of a possible problem." - HL7 Behavioral Health Record DAM R2, InfantBirthOutcomesTracking.headCircumference

Integer length length

"This data element can represent the crown-heel length (CHL): the distance from the crown of the head to the heel in embryos, fetuses, and infants; the equivalent of standing height in older persons; or crown-rump length (CRL): the distance from the crown of the head to the breech in embryos, fetuses, and infants; the equivalent of sitting height in older persons." - HL7 Behavioral Health Record DAM R2, InfantBirthOutcomesTracking.length

Integer nicuStay nicuStay

"The number of days the infant is in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)." - HL7 Behavioral Health Record DAM R2, InfantBirthOutcomesTracking.nicuStay

String normalRange normalRange

"Apgar is a quick test performed on a baby at 1 and 5 minutes after birth. The 1-minute score determines how well the baby tolerated the birthing process. The 5-minute score tells the doctor how well the baby is doing outside the mother's womb. The health care provider will examine the baby's various categories: Breathing effort, Heart rate, Muscle tone, Reflexes, and Skin color. Each category is scored with 0, 1, or 2, depending on the observed condition. This Apgar test is done to determine whether a newborn needs help breathing or is having heart trouble. The Apgar rating is based on a total score of 1 to 10. The higher the score, the better the baby is doing after birth. A score of 7, 8, or 9 is normal range and is a sign that the newborn is in good health. Any score lower than 7 is a sign that the baby needs medical attention." - HL7 Behavioral Health Record DAM R2, InfantBirthOutcomesTracking.normalRange
