WomensHealth

The Women's Health domain originates from the VA VistA system (which in turn adopted it from Indian Health Services), and had not yet been validated by the FHIM team.

The Women's Health package is a registry of clinical information for women patients. One characteristic that will be immediately apparent is that there are data elements such as laboratory results that a large integrated system would ordinarily be available in other parts of the system. The structure is the way it is because in practice, information from paper records from outside providers would be abstracted with the relevant information (e.g., was T Zone adequately seen) entered into this package and ancillary information (e.g., the phone number of the lab that performed the test) not entered.
