Allergies
The Allergies domain models the traditional concept of an Allergy List, which is a listing of any known conditions of susceptibility to a substance, and which is used by the clinician to determine what treatments might need to be avoided when practical. Note that the FHIM uses the term Intolerance Condition so that non-Immunoglobulin-E (IgE)-mediated responses, such as when a patient becomes nauseous when taking penicillin can be included in this list, even though it is not an allergy. This domain includes references to the kind of reaction that is associated with exposure, records of actual reactions when recorded, and sensitivity tests which lend empirical credence to the underlying condition.
